People often ask 'where are the dresses made?'.
All of our flower girl dresses and first communion dresses are handmade in our own workrooms in Great Britain.
Our length measurements are from the shoulder to the hem of the dress. When measuring your child go from the top of her shoulder and go down until you get to the length on our website, that will show you where the hem should end.

We have over 140 silk colours available and we are always happy to try and match your colour via our other sources. If you would like to see the silk colours that we have available please just email us to ask to see the silk swatches and we'll post them out to you.
Yes! If you have a particular flower girl dress or first holy communion dress style in mind just email photos to us and we'll take a look and see what we can do. We love it when customers have their own specia idea!
We are currently working on a 2-3 week production time. Our production time increases in the summer to 4-5 weeks and so it is important to order in plenty of time. Shipping to the USA and Australia usually takes between 7 to 10 days so please do factor this into your order time. Please contact us for a rush order of flower girl dresses, first communion dresses and christening dresses. There isn't an additional charge but we do charge for express shipping.
Yes! Once you've purchased the items just send us an email telling us that you intend to submit your measurements at a later date and we ill make a note of it. Don't forget to include your name as it appears on the order!

Is your postage cost for the whole order or per item?
The UK and Worldwide postage charged of £5.00 is for everything in your order, regardless of the number of items
The measurements that we need for dresses WITHOUT sleeves are:
Chest circumference
Length from shoulder to waist
Length from shoulder to hem
Childs Age
SLEEVES
For dresses WITH puff sleeves or elbow length sleeves we need the above and the measurement of the child's upper arm -please take this at its widest point. For elbow length sleeves we also need the measurement from the outer edge of the shoulder to the elbow. We do not need any of the sleeve measurements for butterfly sleeves or cap sleeves.

If you would like to use your own fabric to make a flower girl dress we are very happy to consider it and there are only a few fabrics that we can't use.

As a general rule most children grow between 5cm-10cm in height per year and between 1cm-3cm around the chest and waist per year.
We add 2" to the chest measurement as standard for movement to all of our flower girl dresses and first communion dresses however, if you're ordering 3-6 months in advance It is important to tell us the date of the event and we can factor in growth for the chest and length.
Measuring for a flower girl dress is easy.
When measuring, it is best to use a soft tape measure. If you only have a retractable measure, use a bit of string and measure this against the straight rule.
We work in both inches and centimetres so don't worry about converting from one to another.
To measure the chest: keep the arms at the side (not above the head) and don't ask them to breath out so that the chest is inflated. Measure just under the arms, all the way around the fullest part of the chest. Measurements should be taken close to the skin, but not so tight that they cannot breathe!
To measure the shoulder to waist: measure from the nape of the neck to about 2cm above the tummy button.
To measure the length:
Full Length: Measure from nape of neck to just above the ground.
Tea Length: Measure from nape of neck to ankle.
Please remember that if you are ordering a dress 3 to 6 months in advance please let us know the date of the event and we will add an additional amount for movement and growth. I want my flower girl dress to have 3 colours? How much will this cost me to do?
Great news - virtually every flower girl dress can come in any colour combination you want and the price is the same!
Every dress with a tulle skirt comes in ivory or white and the sashes and flowers for these dresses are available in over 140 silk colours. We can also make the bodice of the tulle dresses in any of the silk colours and we can also colour match tulle to many of these silks.
You can provide your own fabric but with limitations so please email us with that question and we can discuss the options.

To facilitate placing an order, we suggest that you first chose the flower girl dress, first communion dress or christening dress style that you would like to order and type the measurements in the comments section. This section also allows you to put any special things in there we need to know e.g. colour or style changes

We ship Worldwide and we have a flat rate shipping fee of £5.00 Worldwide for your total order.
What if I need a rush order in a few days or a couple of weeks? As we make our dresses to order we can slip in an urgent order at the weekend without interfering with other orders. We don't charge a fee for a rush order but we do charge a rush shipping fee which usually works out at around £14.00 per order for the UK and we can send dresses to the USA and Worldwide by UPS. The total World-wide shipping fee is usually around £29.00 depending on your location. Please contact us for non UK orders and we can confirm the shipping cost.
Rush orders may not be cancelled under any circumstances as our lovely lady seamstresses have to jump through hoops to get this done for you in time.
We are an online company in London, UK and all of our flower girl dresses, christening gowns and first holy communion dresses are made to order. Since 1982 we have made everything by hand in our studio in Devon and in London, England.
All of our garments are individually made in our own studio, which means that we can be very flexible and are able to make changes to all of our dress styles and our colour range is extensive. As we don't have a shop, we do understand that our customers would like to see the fabrics that are avilable and so we are always happy to send out fabric swatches and of course have a chat on the phone to discuss the style and colour.
