In 15th-century Germany, it was supposed that the wearers of the Forget-Me-Not would not be forgotten by their lovers. Legend has it that ,in medieval times, a knight and his lady were walking along a river bank. He picked a posy of flowers but because of the weight of his armour he fell into the river. As he was drowning he threw the posy to his loved one and shouted “Forget-me-not.” Because of this it was often worn by ladies as a sign of faithfulness and enduring love.
Gilly Gray has made these flower girl dress in a high quality pure cotton fabric with tiny blue and white silk forget-me-not flowers.
The bodice is fully lined with a button fastening at the back. As all of our dresses are hand made we can make changes to the styles including: adding sleeves, a full button back and of course, the length can be made to your specifications. These dresses are made-to-order and available in sizes 3 months to 12 years (if you would like a larger size please email us). The dress can be made in a range of colours.
